Very commonly used as a preservative in home-made soaps and cosmetics. Not strictly an essential oil but a Resinoid.  Inhaled, benzoin is recommended for treating bronchitis, asthma, coughs and laryngitis.  It is a sweet and soothing addition to any blend to treat bronchial problems.

It has a wonderfully warm scent, similar to Vanilla and blends well with Sweet Orange Oil.  For aromatherapy, it does best in a light bulb diffuser, as it is thick and difficult to clean on other kinds of diffusers.
