Origin: Morocco

Remember the soft, malleable clay we used to enjoy turning into cups and bowls during art class? Well… this is not that kind of clay. Rather, Moroccan Red Clay is a mineral rich substance that comes direct from the Atlas mountain region in Morocco. Used for centuries by the Romans and Egyptians to help cleanse the skin, it is often used as a conditioner, shampoo or soap due to its ability to remove toxins and impurities. Perfect for those with dry skin and scalps due to its remarkable gentleness, Moroccan Red Clay powder is very high in silica, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium making it one of the most effective clays for treating your skin.

Whether you use it to improve skin texture and clarity; reduce redness and flakiness; or remove dirt, oil and harmful toxins from the skin, Moroccan Red Clay powder could be the savior your skin has been looking for—just don’t try using it on the old pottery wheel.

Skin Health

High in a number of essential vitamins and minerals, including silica, magnesium, and potassium, Moroccan Red Clay powder is a natural powerhouse for the skin. Often found in a wide array of beauty products, such as creams and masks, it’s able to help detoxify, cleanse, and strengthen many of our external systems. It does so by absorbing and eliminating impurities that can lead to dull or rough appearance, blemishes, and inflammation.

Hair & Nail Health

These beneficial qualities also aid in the appearance and health of our hair and nails. Moroccan Red Clay powder helps in cleansing the scalp and hair follicles, allowing for stronger roots as well as a softer and more supple appearance. And it relieves dullness, cracking, and inflammation from on and around the nails, while alleviating redness and pain from cuts, scrapes and other wounds on the hands and skin.

Healthy Facts

Moroccan Red Clay should not be consumed, as it holds no beneficial internal properties. Although it can be used on other external areas, aside from the face, hair, and nails. Able to stimulate better cell repair, it can minimize healing time for cuts and bruises, and also alleviate the signs and symptoms of blackheads, acne, and redness on many areas of the body.

Moroccan Red Clay powder is not meant for ingestion. Though, it does hold a wealth of cosmetic uses.

  • Able to be mixed into powders, masks, creams, and lotions, it is widely regarded for its ability to cleanse the pores and moisturize the skin.
  • We suggest mixing it with your favorite skin products for a one-of-a-kind detox mask that’s sure to have your face glowing in no time.
Though its name may give it away, this special type of clay hails from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. In use since the 8th century, it’s traditionally found in Turkish baths and Moroccan Hammams. Much like the mud wraps we find in spas today, Moroccan Red Clay has long been utilized to soften the skin, minimize pores and remove dead skin cells. More so, it’s also used as a shampoo that helps to prevent dandruff and dry skin on the scalp. Today, its popularity continues as people around the world employ its beauty-focused benefits in spa treatments and home skin regimens.

If stored correctly, our Red Clay has a shelf life of up to 2 years. To maintain its freshness, it is recommended to always reseal the bag after opening it and removing as much air from the bag as possible. Store in room temperature, away from any heat source or sunlight.

Red Clay - Moroccan

I use the clay as a body wash and shampoo every once in a while. I just mix the clay with water until it gets pasty and then apply to my skin and hair. I let the clay dry and then wash the clay off of my body in the shower. It works great, however it can get very messy!
