How to Make Herbal Pills

If you’re new to using herbs, you may have already heard that you can make them into capsules, but did you know that you can also make herbs into pills? Herbal pills are unlike capsules because they only require herbs and water, not gel caps. You will need a grinder, however, to turn the herbs into a powder fine enough to mix with water to make the pills. When using your herbs to make pills, the pills will contain about half of the dose that a capsule would, so when calculating dosages and following a dosage schedule, use twice as many pills as you would capsules to substitute. Making herbal pills is easy, too! Just follow these simple instructions.

Ingredients for Pills

10 TBS ground herbs
1 TBS slippery elm bark powder
Water

Herb Preparation Recipe

Mix the Slippery Elm Bark powder with the 10 tablespoons of the herbs, then add in water a tiny amount at a time until they are a doughy consistency. Roll the dough into pea-sized balls. You may use them immediately or, to preserve for later use, dry them in the oven at a low heat for a few minutes.
